Do modern Japanese videogames "suck"? Such is the contention of one Phil Fish at GDC, while Jonathon Blow backs him up with the assertion that Japanese videogames are "joyless husks."

Hmm. That's a term we'd apply to MANY games--both Eastern and Western varieties. Austin and Al discuss the idea that "Japanese games suck" and whether or not the idea really means anything. They also check the mailbag (empty) and somehow tangentialize themselves into weird phallic-sounding song names.

And of course, there's what we've been playing, with Al's forcing of Hexyz dominating the landscape and Austin's meager attempt to finish Ghost Trick receiving barely a whisper.
