Word from videogame deal site Cheapassgamer.com (CAG) is that Circuit City is jumping headfirst into the used, or 'pre-owned', videogame sales business. A forum poster, known as wlau on CAG's forums, has found Circuit City pages that display these 'pre-owned' titles, which are labeled as 'coming soon.'
Preliminary perusal of the site's prices for pre-owned games shows that many pre-owned games will be selling at around the expected $5 discount, though many of its listed Wii games are actually selling at only a $4 discount from the regular price. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii, for example, is selling at $44.99 while most of the other Wii games the page lists are selling at $45.99. For the Xbox 360, there were other strange inconsistencies: we see The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion selling for $47.99 (normally selling for $59.99 at the store) whereas Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy sells at $44.99 (normally selling for $49.99.
Links to the pre-owned pages are accessible through Cheapassgamer.com here. So far, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable, Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360 games have pre-owned pages. No indication on whether or not Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, or PC games will get the same treatment.
