AT A GLANCE aesthetics GRAPHICS: Breathtaking animation & attention to detail; lighting that brings scenes both dull and bright to life. The occasional misstep with certain objects. SOUND: Mostly subdued ambient music sucks you into each scene; some of the seemingly misplaced European accents might boot you right back out. execution GAMEPLAY: More adventure, less action; quick-time haters won't be in heaven but might be surprised at how gripping it's executed here. VALUE: Marathoning it in a day or two is easy to do, but it's fun to replay and explore different choices for their story--or even emotional--implications. OVERALL Not a game for everyone but one that everyone should try, Heavy Rain is at worst a study in connecting players with their games.
